Counselling help
Counselling is a talking therapy that gives you the time and space to express and explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours with a qualified counsellor/psychotherapist.
Sessions are confidential and the counsellor will be non-judgemental, transparent, genuine and adhere to ethical practice guidelines to ensure the safe and appropriate provision of therapeutic support.
Counselling can help with but not limited to:
A mental health condition, such as depression or anxiety
Upsetting physical health condition, such as infertility
Difficult life event, such as a bereavement, a relationship breakdown or work-related stress
Difficult emotions – for example, low self-esteem or anger
Sexual identity.
Individual counselling can help you gain a better understanding of your emotions, your thought processes and help you find your own solutions to problems by introducing alternative coping strategies.
Counsellors will not usually give advice or tell you what to do, the process is mostly client led.
